Does anyone know if the east ridge of Mynydd Perfedd / Carnedd y Filiast starting at SH626623 is a scramble or just a rocky walk?

I'm sure there was a thread on this ages ago but I can't seem to find it. Someone went halfway up before turning back due to weather and said the lower part was steep grass. As for the upper section, it needs investigating.

Seems a really obvious ridge though, so I'd be surprised if it's a top notch scramble. But then, it is on the unfashionable end of the Glyders.

Yes I started that thread as well - can't remember if it was on here or OutdoorsMagic. As you say its so obvious I'd assume I'd have heard if it was any good. Nevertheless its weird that I can't find any route description anywhere, either in books or on the web, for walking, or for scrambling.

It is very strange. I recently picked up Hillwalking in Wales vol.2 by Peter Hermon. It's a Cicerone guide and covers all sorts of places and includes very obscure routes that leave the paths behind. It isn't even in that!

You've piqued my curiosity however, so I may try and get out and explore it this week or next. Besides, I seem to be spending all my time on Tryfan at the moment (last five days in about 2 weeks have all been there!) so could do with a change.

I'll post any findings here.

It was me wot investigated it last year - as you say, I turned back just when it may have turned interesting due to mist and approaching dusk. I suspect it might not turn out to be that interesting, but if you have a chance to look, Mike - you can always try downclimbing it after going up Atlantic Slab!
