probably heading to arran in a couple of weeks, hope to do the a'chir ridge... i believe it is granite, which can weather in a rather rounded fashion. being familiar with gritstone, which weathers into rounded breaks, sometimes the only way to protect routes is with camming devices.

so: it is worth taking cams with me to arran if i'm not planning anything harder than the a'chir traverse...? the big ones are *very* heavy, dont want to take 'em unless i'll need to use 'em...
